NBM was one of the first investors in Rappler, a Philippine social news network where stories inspire community engagement and digitally fuelled actions for social change. Rappler comes from the root words “rap” (to discuss) + “ripple” (to make waves). Rappler promises uncompromised journalism that – hopefully – inspires smart conversations and ignites a thirst for change. Its commitment to truth and justice are known globally and its founder, Maria Ressa, won the 2021 Nobel Peace Prize.
